North Beach 1
North Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with crystal clear waters over coral beds and sandy beach. Divers and swimmers, boarders and sailors love it. Even though the Kaanapali Hotels are near, the beach looks exactly as you see it in my painting, preserved in its natural beauty.

Cathedral of Tranquility
Cathedral of Tranquility is a very special piece, representing the finest loving spirits of the Pacific. Six months of work, and hundreds upon hundreds of transparent layers of oil create the effect of the light glowing through them from the white canvas beneath, as the light glows through the depths of the ocean. It is named after the famous dive spots of the island of Lanai, when the diver looks up and sees the light shining through the openings of the caves like the light coming through the windows of a Cathedral. The ultimate experience is expressed in the companionship of the characters, having someone to share it all with.
Circle of Life 1
Circle of Life 1 is the snorkelers’ and divers’ favorite for many seasons. It represents the clarity of the Hawaiian waters, and the visibility that allows one to enjoy the creation that is in balance. The nature of the non-aggressive Green Sea Turtle exists in harmony with the ravenous appetite of the eel, as the Hawaiian Spinner Dolpins pay you a friendly visit and the Moorish Idols grace us with their presence. The coral seascapes give us the impressions of life in another world, and yet a world of our own.
Dance of the Dolphins
Dance of the Dolphins exhibits the loving and playful nature of this master of harmony. Communication has long been recognized as a strong characteristic of the dolphin existence. In Hawaii they travel in large groups, hundreds at a time, and are considered the sacred resting place for the souls of the deceased, as they reincarnate to this species that has such strong family ties to each other. People with strong, loving relationships, and honeymooners, often see an expression in this work that speaks loudly to them.
Dreamer
Dreamer is a journey in the fiery sunset of Maui, when all the elements are aligned so perfectly that the sky and ocean are alive with otherworldly colors of the rainbow. Pictured alone, and starry eyed; the personality of the dolphin is not hindered by his strong family commitments.
Family Love
Family Love shows the sometimes-monochromatic world under the sea as the reflection of the water sets the stage. The blues in combination with green and purple psychologically induce the cooling positive energy that we so need in today’s society of hot and fast paces. The Dolphins care for their young and develop long, lasting relationships. When they arrive in an area, they bring with them an aura that dominates their environment with this harmonious energy. At the birth of a humpback whale, they will stay as guardians against a shark that may be attracted.
God’s Handiwork
All the creatures of the sea, existing in harmony and peace on Hawaii’s coral reef.
Guiding Love
Guiding Love is an expression of the loving energy portrayed by the dolphins and the Green Sea Turtles, as they co-exist beneath the sea. The setting is reminiscent of the Cathedrals dive spots of Lanai, where the light coming through the openings to the underwater caves has the look of the light coming through the windows of a cathedral church. The soft glow of a crimson sunset is reflected through the water and onto the coral and the sea plants rising to greet the sun.
Haleakala Sunrise
On a sailboat, just a little South of Lahaina, one may view the West Maui Mountains as you see them in Haleakala Sunrise, and early in the morning the sun rises over Haleakala, far to the right. The dolphins are known to frolic in the waves, and in this piece I tried to show how they are so much a part of the ocean, that it is difficult sometimes to see where the dolphin ends and the water begins.
Macaw Falls
Macaw Falls is a real place that exists deep into the valleys of Peahi, not accessible by any path. The fresh waters form a steep fall, and the pool beneath is so deep that we have never discovered its bottom. The steep slopes that surround the falls are covered with honey ginger, otherwise called yellow ginger. The flower is so sweet that you can suck the honey from its stem, and the intoxicating fragrance is like none other, as it blooms in summer through September and dominates the valleys that are graced with its presence.

It is originally from India, brought to Hawaii over a hundred years ago, where it has since grown wildly throughout the deep valleys and hillsides of the jungles. It is my personal favorite and I always feel honored to be sharing a space with such a beautiful creation. The Macaws are not indigenous to Hawaii either, however many a pet has broken free from his cage and has found a way of life and a companion in the warm climate of Maui.

The Valley Isle of Maui is known for many a stream that finds its way down the mountains and into the ocean. In Macaw Falls the water has emptied into a bay that is frequented by the Green Sea Turtle and the Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins, as well as many tropical fish.
Majestic Guardian
Majestic Guardian was painted as a companion piece to the Playmates of the Sea. It is an original oil on canvas, 24" x 30". I tried to capture the prowess of the dolphin, and his protective nature, as well as the simple beauty of the clear ocean waters. The light of the sun reflects on the wet surface of the dolphin just as the powers-that-be seem to have bestowed an enlightened intelligence and personality upon this blessed friend of man, and sea creatures alike.
Memories of Maui
Memories of Maui was painted, upon request, as a companion piece for Hana Coast. The characters portrayed here are a fairly good representation of the common sites when diving on Maui. My love for the Green Sea Turtle gave this creature dominance in the foreground, while the Humpback whale and the dolphin share the deeper areas. The Hawaiian State Fish, (the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a), the Unicorn Fish, and other fish that are seen often in these waters share the foreground with the friendly turtles.
Millennium Dawn
Millennium Dawn was my work in progress at the turn of the century. As this painting was being hung in the gallery, the first month of the year 2000 was unfolding. She rises to the surface in a bubble, prompted and guided by the intelligent, loving Dolphins. She spreads her wings and reaches for the sun in her efforts to break loose from the bubble of life that has supported her on her journey upwards.
Moonlight Serenade
Moonlight Serenade stands over time to be a favorite of the dolphin lovers in the dominant glows of green. The photographs of a friend, who was swimming with these creatures when he captured their essence on film, inspired this painting. The Island of Kawai has the highest amount of rainfall in the world, and rivers that weave and cut their way to the ocean, creating bays as the earth molds and forms. The dolphins have been known to enter these bays, and frolic in their element.
Playmates
Communication with each other and frolicking in playful rhythms are portrayed in Playmates of the Sea. This portrait of the dolphins has captured the twinkle of the light of life in their eyes and they actually smile at you.
Spirit of the Deep
Spirit of the Deep is a very special palette for the very special people who are passionate about their purples, as well as their dolphins. The original is 18" x 24", oil on canvas, and one of the few originals that is available.
Symphony of the Sea
All the creatures of the sea, existing in harmony and peace on Hawaii’s coral reef.
—  Golf  —
5th Hole at Kapalua
The Fifth Hole At Kapalua is world famous by many golfers and newlyweds alike. The golfers meet the challenge of driving across the bay, and the newly-weds repeatedly stand on the green, overlooking the north coast of Maui, to exchange their vows. Adjacent to this golf course is the Plantation Course, where the world-renown Mercedes Tournament is held annually. This piece was originally painted as a commissioned work, in a 24" x 36" format, and hangs in a successful accountants’ office in Reno, where clients from varied places walk in and recognize the famous Kapalua Bay Course hole.
Makena
Makena is the South Maui course that amazes the imagination with beautiful greens and flowers, wildlife and breath-taking views. It is recognized as one of the most desirable golf courses in the world to play. The view in this painting is taken from a position of the clubhouse restaurant, overlooking the bougainvillea that frames the courtyard. One looks out over the tenth hole and continues on to see the island of Koolawe. The white egret follows the trails of the freshly mowed greens, and the Short Eared Owl, indigenous to this area, can be seen soaring from time to time.

Divine Order
The well-known Wailua Falls, as you leave Hana, is the location of Divine Order. Most of the plants you see are indigenous to Hawaii. The ginger and the impatiens, as well as the other fauna that grows effortlessly in the rain forests of Hana accompany the Kukui Nut tree in the left lower corner, the Breadfruit Tree, and the Ohia Lehua. The Iiwi, our endangered Honey Creeper, is most likely found on the Ohia Lehua blossoms, sucking the honey from the fragile plumes. As the Hawaiian Lore has it, do not pick the flower of this tree as you go into the forest. Pick it as you leave and it may bring you good luck.
Hana Coast
The Hana Coast is known for majestic headlands, which drop straight down to deep water, forming one of the most beautiful meetings of land and sea anywhere. This painting depicts dolphins, humpback whales, green sea turtles and other Hawaiian sealife. Blues dominate... the light blue of the sky, the darker blue of the ocean, then the transcendent, mysterious blue of the deep.
Hawaiian Haven
Hawaiian Haven is inspired by the beauty of Akaka Falls, and the valleys of Peahi. The jungles of Hawaii are one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Bamboo forests are common, in many different types, but the golden bamboo is rare and has a sacred presence. The Maui Creeper graces our lowlands and reminds us of the delicate balance upon which their survival is predicated. I aimed to capture the holy silence of the pristine jungle where the soft sound of the rustle of the wind in the tall bamboo leaves and the call of a bird, and softly flowing fresh water create a paradise for man to refresh his soul.
Iao Valley
The Iao Valley is one of the wonders of nature that captivates the mind and delights the soul. It is a part of the Maui Mountain Range that is home to some of the most drastic mountain formations. One looks nearly straight up to see the top of various mountains that surround you as you explore the fresh water streams that lace the mountains on their way downhill, forming beautiful waterfalls. It has long been held by the Hawaiian People as a very spiritual place.

Unlike Hana, the Iao Valley is centrally located and easily accessible. The waterfall in this painting is an actual place, with every tree and plant and rock exactly as they existed at this point in time and space. It is a 45-minute hike beyond the parking facilities.

Sacred Garden
A vision of unspoiled Hawaii, Sacred Garden evokes the sights, sound and smells of hidden tropic places. A place of peace and beauty, unchanged for thousands of years.

The golfers meet the challenge of driving across the bay, and the newly-weds repeatedly stand on the green, overlooking the north coast of Maui, to exchange their vows. A New Beginning
The Humpback Whale comes to Maui every year on its journey from Alaska. In these warm waters it will give birth, and the calves are lifted to the surface to take their first breath. It is a New Beginning for an awesome creation. The Whales stay for months, feeding milk to their young but not eating anything themselves. They put on spectacular shows as they breach, sailing into the air and landing with huge splashes.
Earth, Wind and Fire
Earth, Wind, and Fire brings together all the elements of the physical laws of nature that when appropriately aligned, can create where the imagination leaves off. Active surf, and the wind to shape its wings, is on fire with the energy of the sun. Cool blue water emerges into the hot setting sun and the playful Trade Wind rips at the breaking, crashing waves. All the colors of the rainbow are at play in paradise.
God’s Handiwork
All the creatures of the sea, existing in harmony and peace on Hawaii’s coral reef.
Haleakala Sunrise

Honolua Bay
Honolua Bay is accepted as one of the world’s best-known surf spots, but only for the experienced surfer. The Bay as painted here is not always disturbed with such powerful surf. Normally the waves break out beyond the bay where the surfers ride them. At these times divers and snorkelers who cherish the protected reef and all of its incredible inhabitants frequent the bay. The waters are crystal clear and the black rock beach is your only challenge to greet when entering the waters.

This painting is an expression of the power of the sea, as with very high tides it can mark its path all the way into the bay, and make snorkeling impossible. The short walk from the road to enter the bay is an experience to be treasured by nature lovers, as you see the thick, rich greenery of varied types, growing from the ground up and from the trees down. The sun paints beautiful highlights as it struggles to get through the thick growth and light the path. All of this is commonly found in the rich mountainous territory of this Kapalua treasure. The West Maui Mountains of Kapalua are highly prized and protected.
Lahaina Moonshine
Lahaina Moonshine is a realistic portrayal of what one sees if he is on a boat, out in front of Lahaina, in the early evening, as the full moon rises over the West Maui Mountains, and sheds its brilliant glow. The enlightened fields below the mountains were the sugar cane that has since been discontinued. Then we move on down through the residential area until you come to the beach, which is lined with the world-famous shopping available on Front Street. Full moons begin on the mountains, and set over the horizon of the ocean in the morning.

Magic Ocean
Magic Ocean, a commissioned painting requested by a prominent collector, is a testimony to the power and grace of the ocean and the beauty of the valleys of Maui. The rays of the sun bless the hills and valleys and the waters from above join with the waters of the roaring tides.
Maui Dreams
Maui Dreams is a step into the romantic realism that makes Maui the favorite vacation destination of the world. Lighting plays a major role in Hawaii where there is so much water surface area for reflections to play on, and so much diversity in landscape to be highlighted. Gazing upon the surf, the waves that grow and wane like the moon, one can see analogies with nature and the paths of our lives, the moods of our moments. Forceful, turbulent raw power can subside and exist in harmony with the serene and the still waters, which display a passionate reflection of the evening glow.

Moonsong was painted especially for a friend who has a collection of my originals. It was at her request that the rain forests on a moonlit night shine through the crystal clear waters of Maui to spotlight the Green Sea Turtle. North Beach 1
North Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with crystal clear waters over coral beds and sandy beach. Divers and swimmers, boarders and sailors love it. Paradise Hideaway
This octagonal piece is rare in that the indigenous birds of Maui have been incorporated into the foreground of a marine environment. The Red Throated Liothrix can be sited in the near sea level areas. The Green Sea Turtle comes ashore to lay her eggs, or sometimes, to bask in the sun and burn the algae off of the shell. This time Maui is in the horizon, as we gaze from another island’s point of view.

Circle of Life 2 came to be upon request for the beauty and harmony of the first, but with the power and overwhelming presence of the Humpback Whale. Basking in the sunlight, these gentle creatures display not only their awesome size and agility, but also their nature of love and their love of nature. Another divers’ choice, it reminds one of the singing he would hear were he so blessed to be in this place with such distinguished and beautiful companions.

Hono Ani Pa’a
Honu Oni Pa’a is the Hawaiian name that means Turtle Steadfast. The Green Sea Turtle has survived from the beginning of time as a non-aggressive vegetarian. Once he has found a place where he feels secure, you can usually come back years later and find the same turtle in the same place. They know from hundreds of thousands of years of evolution that they are shark food; so at night, when the sharks feed, they tuck themselves into their chosen rock, cave, or niche of some kind, where they feel safe and wait for morning light to feed on the algae.

Turtle Flight
Turtle Flight was painted under the watchful eyes of my parents, two weeks after 9-11. There have been many paintings of Green Sea Turtles in many different poses and aspects of their daily routine, but their ability to appear to be flying when they swim, has a tendency to transform the spectator to a new dimension. The lack of gravity when visiting their sphere of existence is really quite mystifying.
Turtle Reef
Turtle Reef is one of many paintings I have created purely from a vision of the Green Sea Turtle in all of his beauty. The turtle is a symbol of longevity, bringing good luck. Here he meditates as the light of another dimension penetrates his world and finds him in his lair, tucked into the side of a rising living coral.
Turtle Town
Hawaiian green sea turtles are among the world’s most graceful and beautiful creatures, whether "flying" underwater, resting on the bottom of the sea, or hanging suspended in mid-water. Not available in giclee print.

Moonsong
Moonsong was painted especially for a friend who has a collection of my originals. It was at her request that the rain forests on a moonlit night shine through the crystal clear waters of Maui to spotlight the Green Sea Turtle. The Rainbow Wrasse comes into the picture as he turns the corner of the coral formations that frame the foreground.
Power Of Love
The Power of Love shows that no matter how rough or stormy life may get, we always have our faith in Love and a higher power that will shed its light on us and help us through anything.
Sacred Garden
A vision of unspoiled Hawaii, Sacred Garden evokes the sights, sound and smells of hidden tropic places. A place of peace and beauty, unchanged for thousands of years.
Turtle Falls 1
Turtle Falls is that magical combination of rain forests, waterfalls, and Green Sea Turtle. Maui has such diversity in differing geological areas, as displayed here in the "above and below" theme.
Turtle Falls 2
Turtle Falls is that magical combination of rain forests, waterfalls, and Green Sea Turtle. Maui has such diversity in differing geological areas, as displayed here in the "above and below" theme. Turtle Falls 2 differs from Turtle Falls 1 with the addition of yellow tangs, triggerfish and moorish idol fish.
—  Whales  —
A New Beginning
The Humpback Whale comes to Maui every year on its journey from Alaska. In these warm waters it will give birth, and the calves are lifted to the surface to take their first breath. It is a New Beginning for an awesome creation. The Whales stay for months, feeding milk to their young but not eating anything themselves. They put on spectacular shows as they breach, sailing into the air and landing with huge splashes.
Circle of Life 2
Circle of Life 2 came to be upon request for the beauty and harmony of the first, but with the power and overwhelming presence of the Humpback Whale. Basking in the sunlight, these gentle creatures display not only their awesome size and agility, but also their nature of love and their love of nature. Another divers’ choice, it reminds one of the singing he would hear were he so blessed to be in this place with such distinguished and beautiful companions.
God’s Handiwork
All the creatures of the sea, existing in harmony and peace on Hawaii’s coral reef.
